Laura Dallas Burford, MA, PMP
Laura is known for listening, partnering, and collaborating with business leaders. Her broad business background, strong financial acumen, experience in continuous-improvement initiatives, strong technical background along with her management experience provide a unique combination of skills. She uses her combined skills and applies her consulting and project management expertise in a pragmatic manner resulting in practical and flexible solutions for her clients. The outcome is her clients improve their overall success rate and overall performance.
She is President of LAD Enterprizes, Inc., a management consulting company focused on project and program management initiatives from aligning initiatives with strategy and building PMO organizations to rescuing troubled projects; and educating and coaching leaders in project management. In 2016, she introduced an initiative to assist independent consultants with becoming consultants. LAD Enterprizes was started in 2002 as an information technology and management consulting company for small and mid-market businesses. Due to changes within the business market, in 2010 LAD Enterprizes decided to exit their managed network care practice.
Prior to starting LAD Enterprizes, Inc., Laura was recruited by the CEO of a Fortune 100 company to manage a start-up international technology consulting organization’s delivery operation; worked for two big four consulting organizations; and several Fortune 50 companies. As a consultant, she has provided strategic and project related consulting advice to profit and non-profit organizations of all sizes and in all industries. She has led numerous large multi-million-dollar business improvement, application development, and technology infrastructure programs; established new businesses, outsourcing operations, and project management offices; and worked with turnaround initiatives and troubled projects.
Laura offers consulting and project management training seminars and has written several courses including a globally available nonprofit project practicum for PMI Educational Foundation, a Fundamentals of Project Management, and a Business Consulting Workshop. She is a frequent speaker, writes articles for trade magazines, and is the author of Project Management for Flat Organizations (2012, J. Ross Publishing, Inc.), one of ten 2013 Small Business Book Awards winners.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Commerce (BSC) and Masters of Arts (MA) from Rider University; is a Certified Teamability® Professional; and is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP®).
